Reutzel Claims Victory At Fast Trax

ReutzelCPS.JPG

April 15th-  Aaron Reutzel claimed his first SOW6 victory on the year last night at Fast Trax Speedway in Chatham, Louisiana.  Seventeen entries made the haul to the North Central La. track, even with potential rain later in the evening.

Aaron, son of 2000 SOW6 Champion Kenny Reutzel, quickly showed his power by going to the front in the first heat and taking the checkers ahead of the #51 of Terry Monroe and #10 Matt Ebarb.  Rounding out the heat was #9 J.D. Arthurs, #18, #3 Cody Coggins, #75 Tony Reeves, #1ac Channing Zierolf, and #6 Dustin Gates.

Heat two saw the triumphant return of Marty Hargroder.  Hargroder, whose been plagued with motor problems since late last year finally had one hold together which carried him to the checkers in his heat.  Hargroder was in persuit of the 5x piloted by Tyson Hall until Hall's motor went south.  Prior to last night's event, Hall was 2-for-2 in 600 competition.  Following Hargroder to the checkers was #88 Brandon Darlington, #72 Justin Taylor, #81 Kyle Ingalls, #85 John McCord, #5x Tyson Hall, #15 Chadd Roberts, and the #5 of Buddy Lee.

The feature lineup was set after a 4 was pulled for the invert, lining up Arthurs on the pole with Ingalls to the outside.  It wasn't long before the yellow flew as Ingalls got sideways and collected Monroe bringing out the first caution.  As racing got back under way, Hall was on the move to the front after a motor change a short while earlier.  Once more the yellow was in the air as Hargroder's night came to an end.  His chain guard somehow wrapped itself around his axle, ending his night as well.  Back under green, Ringold's Tony Reeves was holding position near the front with Zierolf and Taylor.  As the laps wound down it was Reutzel taking the checkers with Hall bringing up second and one position off from tying his career-best was Reeves in third.

Feature Results:  1)#87 Reutzel,  2)#5x Hall, 3)#75 Reeves, 4)#1ac Zierolf, 5)#72 Taylor, 6)#18, 7)#15 Roberts, 8)#6 Gates, 9)#88 Darlington, 10)#3 Coggins, 11)#85 McCord, 12)#10 Ebarb, 13)#9 Arthurs, 14)#1 Hargroder, 15)#81 Ingalls, 16)#51 Monroe.

Special thanks to Kim at Hooters of Monroe for having the #51 car of Terry Monroe and #10 of Matt Ebarb on display before the race.  These two drivers happen to like their track "delightfully tacky.. yet unrefined".
